AstraZeneca is looking for a Data Support Engineer in our R&D IT Team to manage and maintain our GxP compliant Centralized Monitoring (CM) platform. The mission-critical CM platform allows us to monitor risks in clinical trials run both internally and across external partners.

You will be a part of our core platform team and will work cross functionally with other team members such as Platform Lead, Product Analyst, Release Manager, Business Analysts and key stakeholders such as BRM, Product Owners etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • First-line IT support on our Centralized Monitoring (CM) platform, including prioritizing, solving and distributing service requests and incidents.
  • Work with IT and business teams to reduce incidents on the CM platform and to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Participate in business requirement gathering and design activities with business & IT stakeholders as part of scrum team
  • Support GxP deployments on the CM platform.
  • Maintain the configuration specification documentation both for functional and integration configuration.
  • Serve as an SME on the CMS platform for IT and business partners across regions and business areas.
  • Work with the Data Platform team to edit/update/maintain integration interfaces.
  • Work with software vendors on product requirements and issues related to the platform, security set-up and functional configuration.
MANDATORY SKILLS:
  • 5 years of relevant IT experience
  • Experience is writing SQL queries and any ETL tool knowledge (Talend, AWS Glue, Informatica, etc)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability perform root cause investigation and resolve production issues within SLA’s
  • AWS Cloud exposure
  • Knowledge of support processes like Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and experience working in support teams.
  • Experience of working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM and SAFe.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with people across the globe with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate willingness and attitude to take on different roles within Platform team as when opportunity arises
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Understanding of ETL and data processing
  • Familiar with any relational databases (Oracle, Athena, PostgreSQL, etc)
  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Git
  • Passion for learning, innovating and delivering valuable software to people.
  • Knowledge of Python is added advantage
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent degree is preferred but not required. We will hire self-taught engineers without a formal education given that you have evidence of rich history of software engineering.
