We are looking for a Risk Expert to be a part of Group Financial Risk Management and Control (GFRMC) Analytics and Control.

GFRMC Analytics and Control sits within Nordea’s second line of defense, and is responsible for risk analytics, reporting and control across the risk areas within GFRMC. We work closely information technology/infrastructure and risk model teams. We work to ensure and support appropriate and regulatory compliant model use, efficient and prudent risk management and control frameworks as well as senior providing senior management and regulatory reporting. In addition, we are subject matter experts and business analysts, ensuring compliant risk metrics are established and feeding front end solutions for analysis, reporting and control.

As a Risk Expert, you will play an essential role in further developing and supporting Nordea’s risk management and control practice across relevant risk areas. You will further develop your professional risk management skills as well as personal experiences together with expert analysts in the various risk areas, risk models and risk infrastructure. You have a positive attitude who takes ownership of delegated tasks and who is not afraid to make decisions.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building and maintaining first class processes and controls for risk reporting
• Work to support ongoing projects designed to ensure compliance to relevant financial regulations impacting Nordea
• Risk analysis to support prudent risk management
• Support in developing tools for risk control and reporting, risk analysis and new risk metrics for regulatory compliance
• Build and maintain risk subject matter expertise as well as knowledge on current regulation, industry best practices and regulatory developments.

Your profile and background:

• A solid economics, finance or equivalent academic degree
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience (full time or part time) in financial markets, banking, or similar
• Experience in either the market, counterparty credit risk or liquidity risk is an advantage
• Familiar with a range of financial instruments, and have an understanding of the basics of valuation of financial derivatives
• Knowledge of data architecture, database management and IT systems
• Programming experience (e.g. SQL, Python, R)
• Strong written and verbal skills in English
