For our Client - European Border and Coast Guard Agency we are looking for:
Specialist - Senior Legal Assistant in Law Enforcement Sector
Location: Warszawa
Reference Number: S/SL/LES/2021
Key responsibilities of the position:
- Legal research, comments, analysis and follow-up of the draft MB Decision on Agency Implementing Measures for Processing Operational Personal Data;
- Assistance in the drafting of documents and presentations, participation in meetings in the EnviCrimes domain and beyond;
- Contribution to the portfolio of activities related to the Frontex JHAAN Presidency 2021;
- Legal research and analysis, and assistance in drafting the Assessment of Frontex possible participation in the Joint Investigation Teams as well as follow-up and participation in further discussions and work related activities with Eurojust;
- Assistance and contribution to the Agency suggested priority areas in EnviCrimes domain and participation in the large number of planned activities, meetings, workshops etc.;
- Compilation and finalisation of the CBC indicators for JORA2, EUROSUR and Vulnerability Assessment and relevant follow-up activities;
- Legal research and assistance in drafting documents related e.g to the de lege ferenda recommendations for Frontex Regulation;
- Interpretation of Article 1 of the new Agency Regulation;
- Legal assistance and research on daily basis in terms of internal or external documents, including desk researches on monographic areas;
- Participation and drafting of report meetings on daily basis from various internal meetings, online working groups with external partners and workshops;
- Performing desk researches, legal analysis, legal opinions, and analysis of policy documents in different areas of interest for LES.
Requirements:
- Legal background/studies;
- Studies in international law and in European criminal law;
- Knowledge of legal analysis and capability to draft legal opinions;
- Expertise in environmental law;
- Capability to translate the knowledge on environmental law with research and analysis of environmental crimes;
- Experience and knowledge to analyse policy documents;
- Desk researches on legal matters or topics related to criminal markets;
- Capability to speak and write fluently in English;
- Knowledge of drafting documents such as Briefing Papers, Concept Notes, Meeting Reports etc.
